From the president’s shop.
Greetings EAA’ers. Well the greatest airshow on earth has ended and what a show it was. There were records in attendance of both humans and airplanes. The weather cooperated quite well and it was a fantastic week. As always though, it went too quick.
I think the driver in AirVenture this year was the uptick in flight training. The opportunities due to the impending pilot shortage are immense. For most of us EAA’ers this won’t mean a lot. For the future of aviation in the USA it’s great news. Flight training operations are up at many airports and that’s good news for the future of our passion for aviation.
This month’s meeting will feature an Oshkosh AirVenture slideshow with photos from Peter Bruckner and myself. Drew Gillett was also in attendance and can add his ‘two cents’ of what AirVenture was like.
Our meeting will start at 6PM with a BBQ and then the general meeting will start at 7PM. Come hungry and enjoy EAA AirVenture 2017. The meeting will be held in the FBO building at Rochester’s Skyhaven Airport.
Happy building and safe flying,
John Ricciotti
